Cong has a great selection of restaurants, cafes and a delicatessen. Local restaurants and cafes feature ever changing menus with a focus on traditional Irish cookery with a nod to international cuisine.

Cong Food Festival is a celebration of local food which brings together the finest food and lots of fun.

The Crowes Nest Bar

A traditional pub serving traditional Irish food and international favourites. A large selection of beer, wine and spirits are available. As well as the bar and lounge area there is a large patio to the rear of the pub overlooking the Cong river. Live music throughout the year.

Traditional Irish dining in a welcoming old-world themed bar with plenty of outdoor seating to both the back and front of the building. Music sessions throughout the year.

Lydon’s Lodge Restaurant

Lydon’s Lodge serves fine food, wines and cocktails in a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Meat and fish is sourced locally as it comes into season so the menus change seasonally.

Pat Cohan’s is famous worldwide as the location for the exterior shots in the film “The Quiet Man” and today the owners welcome you to enjoy delicious Irish food and drink in this relaxed historic setting.

McHugh’s Cafe

McHughs Cafes are 3rd generation family run cafes. Based on a tradition going back as far as 1952 serving freshly made hand cut sandwiches, real (loose) tea, fresh ground coffee and homemade pastries.

There are a range of dining opportunities on the Ashford Castle Estate. Dining in the Hotel is available but reservations must be made.

Cullen’s at the Cottage offers relaxed dining. Reservations are advisable.

The Lodge at Ashford Castle offers two dining opportunites. Wilde’s at the Lodge serves contemporary Irish cuisine overlooking the waters of Lough Corrib. The Quay Bar and Brasserie offers hearty Irish cooking in an intimate and informal setting.
